Anyone want some marshmallows?

Anyone want some marshmallows?

Apr 08

I haven’t blogged in awhile. I guess I don’t always have something or anything really to say. My day consists of sleeping, eating, taking care of Gracie, and free lance writing. I keep my workload very light so I don’t get overwhelmed if something comes up and I need to push it off to the side but I’m making enough to get a nice push on paying debts off. I also just got the EnV touch cell phone for my 2 year upgrade which is nice. I’m really liking it.

Gracie had her 6 month checkup on the first. She weighs 15lb11oz which is around the 30th percentile and she’s 27 inches long, which places her somewhere between 75th to 90th percentile so at the moment she’s tall and skinny like her father. I’m perfectly ok with that one. She is just about sitting up on her own but we always keep something nearby in case she topples over. She really is a pain to feed with traditional baby food because she wants to do everything herself. She can get the spoon in her mouth but not back to the bowl to fill it up again. She loves feeding herself though but I’ve been trying to find finger foods we can give her that she can handle because she doesn’t yet have teeth. The Gerber puffs have been nice for her when she can get them in. Oh, and last night I declared she must not be mine because she HATES broccoli.

I’m eating some Easy mac right now which is where my title comes in. As many of you know (or don’t), my husband works for the company that makes it. Unknown to many of us, they make a LOT more than what you think and since he is an employee they get to bulk order overstock items quarterly. For $115 we got
- 18 bags of marshmallows
- 30 handi snacks
- 12 cups of easy mac
- 6 huge canisters of Maxwell house Coffee
- 6 bottles of ranch dressing
- 6 bottles of Italian dressing
-6 bottles of BBQ sauce
- 12 taco dinner starter kits
-6 espresso shot things
- 8 boxes of wheat thins
- 12 jars of real mayonnaise
- 8 canisters of country time lemonade powder
- 6 bottles of A1 steak sauce

And I think there’s a few more in there. Being an employee has its perks we see.

Speaking of that I don’t know if I mentioned Randy’s temp position at his current pay rate turned him to full so since he started 8 months ago he has had a raise of $3/hr and his health benefits have increased dramatically for a LOT less of a cost. He is also eligible to receive double time on Saturdays now. His paid vacation begins in July but we’re not sure when he’s going to take it. We know next year we’re going to West Virginia because he’ll be off parole. He had a 4 day week last week and we got to spend a nice weekend together being busy but doing it together. This week he’s back to the overtime. This will be his 5th day in a row of the 12.5 hour shifts. Tomorrow is another.

We’re doing good for where we are and one of our big debts is going to be paid off Monday which makes me excited. Now I think I’ll head back to work while Gracie is still asleep.
