i would have him charged with animal cruelty AND make him pay that poor dog’s vet bills… that’s awful.. i don’t understand people who can hurt an animal like that.

Poor Colby. Your dad sucks for saying such a thing… and he has a dog? Why have an animal if you’re not going to value its life? As far as the neighbor goes… eh… I’m kind of torn. I do understand and respect farmers and owners of other types of animals wanting to protect what’s theirs. But at the same time, buck shot? Isn’t that kind of cruel?

I hope that the vet bills don’t get too high, and I hope that Colby’s surgery goes well.

oh my god, poor thing ! your dad is really heartless – i can’t believe he really told those people that he can shoot his dog if it happens again. that’s crazy. i hope he gets through surgery fine & that you guys are able to pay for it.

Can’t the shooter be charged with animal cruelty at all? What a disgusting thing to happen to poor Colby. It is one thing to protect your property, but another if you shoot a dog 40 times.

Is your father helping out with the vet costs? I think he is partly responsible due to giving the man the all clear to shoot at the dog. I know he meant his own dog, but still.

What a horrid situation overall. Ugh.

I hope Colby is feeling a bit better! Let us know how the surgery goes. I can’t believe someone would do that, it’s horrible. Dead chicken or not.

Is there any way this guy can be charged with animal cruelty? I understand Colby shouldn’t have been on his property, but he took a few steps with all the injuries he inflicted.
